Winding up the N6 just a few kilometers from the wine villages of Puligny Montrachet and Chassagne Montrachet, the tranquil village of St Aubin nestles into the hillside. Until recent years, its vineyards were little known. But the recognition that the Chardonnay grown here produces wines with the richness of its world famous neighbours but at a fraction of the price, is gradually increasing the popularity of this undiscovered treasure.
The ancient, stone houses cluster together, climbing up the hills through pretty lanes which lead out in all directions to the vineyards. It is picture perfect France.
